Dear Friends!
The Russian-Canadian Club of President's Fellows joins together participants of the Yeltsin Democracy Fellows Program. More than six years have passed since the Club was established in July 26, 1996. The time has come to reflect.
Our Club was created as a response to the challenge of time - the time of waiting for changes in our country. In 1996, we had no idea what would be the realization of this initiative. But today we can firmly say: the Club exists.
The association brings together those who experienced training in Canadian, accept the need for changes in our country, and see the future for Russian society from a citizen's view point.
When trying to formulate the Club's objectives, we first sought to assist the YDFP Fellows in applying their Canadian experience in their respective fields in the most efficient way, while taking into account the human value system and new requirements that are the result of radical changes that have taken place in this country.
Thus, we need to seek a new platform to enhance and strengthen our work in Russia.
The decision to join together with people who participated in the Canada training program, who understand a need for a change in this country, and who hold a civic stand as far as the future of the Russian society is concerned was a natural result of our own growth and reflection of our human values.
Thus, we need to go forward.
We are all different. We are different in age and life experiences; education and upbringing; occupations and interests. Each of us has something unique to good contribute. Why then, cant we root our communications and interactions in the good qualities we all have?
Thus, the Club is a place where we can demonstrate our best qualities in our communication and interactions.
We work and live in Russia. We all experience ups and downs. Quite often problems arise and we are not able to solve them alone. Quite often we need not only good advice but also real help.
Thus we should strive to help each other, for "the hand of the giver shall never be empty".
We strive for happiness and the realization of our dreams. We want happiness not only for ourselves but for our families and Fellow friends. We are often faced with difficulties and obstacles that we are not able to overcome without our fellows and friends.
Thus, we need to strive for success by joining our efforts.
We experience natural feelings of pride and satisfaction when we achieve our goals and outcomes both personally and professionally. Share your achievements with others and they will share their achievements with you. Be proud of the successes of other Club members and rejoice. In turn, they will rejoice and be proud of you.
Thus, the Club's success is the success of everyone, and the success of everyone is key to the Club's success.
Sincerely yours,
Vladimir
Mikheev,
First President of the Club
